My
Personal Commitment to You
Many years ago, I made a commitment that I would
never endorse a product or service unless I truly
believed in the quality and value of the product. If
I use it and endorse it to you, it means I believe
it is of high quality, good value, and that I choose
to use it personally on my TV series and in my
personal studio. This commitment has meant that we
have turned down offers from some companies in the
past and that we are limited as to which companies
we will ever work with in the future. But that is my
commitment to you.
Each of these companies not only makes a product of
excellent quality and good value, but also helps
make it possible for you to watch our public
television series in your area. Use their products
and services with confidence, I do! |

Simply
the best ! We didn't even talk with anyone else.
Viva paper towels are strong enough to use almost
like a cloth in water, very absorbent - which is
important when you go through as many as I do in my
painting, and one of the softest -- in fact I use it
to create 'clouds' and other objects in my painting.
In my opinion, they are probably the best at each of
these that I have ever used. but to find all of it
bundled up into one towel is really amazing. I have
always used Viva paper towels for all my artwork,
and highly recommend them to you.

Logan
Graphic Products makes great mat cutters. They have
an assortment of models for artists, but most of us
will want to use the 450 or 750 models. They are
high quality, precision instruments that will last
you a lifetime, and are very reasonably priced.
Logan also makes Art Deckle Tools for creative
deckled paper edges - these creative and simple to
use instruments are great for finishing off the
edges for any watercolor project. And, Logan also makes
"do-it-yourself" framing tools - for those of you
that want to make your own frames. I really like
Logan's assortment of mat cutters - you will, too.

I
love Tombow pens, and if you've seen my Public TV
Special, or any of my workshops, you'll know I use
Tombow dual-brush pens for creating value studies,
and many sketches. Their dual-brush pens have two
different tips, are water soluble, and come in 96
colors !
Tombow also makes excellent professional grade
drawing and sketching pencils and archival quality
paper adhesives - which work great for attaching
photos, artwork or crafts to scrapbooks or photo
albums or anywhere you need it! The adhesive is
simple to use and clean ! The Tombow company makes
great products and I recommend them to you !

I
love the Masquepen ! And, if you've ever been to my
workshops you know that everyone else does too! I
can't keep them in stock. They are great for
applying liquid mask to any watercolor project, and
they enable you to make precise, clean lines that
are very difficult and usually messy to do by hand.
And, the small plastic bottle and nib comes with
different size applicators, and a self-cleaning
element that means you won't every have to ruin
another brush ! If you paint watercolor, you use
masking fluid - and if you do I highly recommend you
buy a Masquepen ! I use them all the time!

Arches
makes a 300 pound paper that is fabulous and I've
been using it for years for all my original
paintings and on the set of my television program.
I've told my students that I can improve someone's
artwork 30% just by by having them switch to Arches
300 pound paper because it takes the paint really
well and is the best paper for correcting mistakes.
On top of that, it is acid-free which means your
painting will still be looking great years from now
and won't deteriorate in quality like non-acid-free
papers. Paper is one of the keys to great watercolor
and Arches in my paper of choice.

If
you paint watercolor, you'll want to pick up a
subscription to American Artist and Watercolor
magazines. These magazines are informational,
instructional and inspiring to any painter - and
they'll bring you the best in American painting and
watercolor. They have great columns and I know the
editor, Steve Doherty personally. Steve is himself a
painter and does an excellent job of putting
together the kind of magazine painters and
watercolorists need and want. We'll be working
together this year, and I'm even offering a FREE
SUBSCRIPTION to either magazine when you
try my
Watercolor Course - because I know how helpful these
magazines can be.
